ABOUT THE AUTHOR: KENNY KIM

Kenny Kim has always been fascinated by the visual arts, especially the connection between art and photography. This passion led him to study graphic design at the University of Illinois where he also became a skilled Web designer. Shortly after, Kenny opened his own design studio, and it was during this time he realized that the greatest outlet for his artistic expression and technical skills would be through his passion for photography.

Incorporating his own vision into the technical elements of photography, Kenny’s goal with each photo is to present each moment he captures with a subtle artistry that enhances the feel of the moment. With the launch of Kenny Kim Photography in 2006, his vision instantly resonated with his audience, and very quickly grew into a nationally recognized studio. Kenny has shot over 120 weddings in locations throughout the United States, Mexico, the Caribbean, and in Italy. His wedding clients include various local and national celebrities such as Yul Kwon (winner of Survivor, a popular CBS TV Series). He has been commissioned as the second lead photographer for the weddings of Salma Hayek and François-Henri Pinault and LaLa Vasquez and Carmelo Anthony by the international celebrity photography team Bob and Dawn Davis. He has also been contracted to photograph various professional and collegiate sporting events and numerous celebrity events featuring David Foster, Andrea Bocelli, John Legend, Three Doors Down, Chris Tomlin, Michael W. Smith, and more.

Kenny was recently selected as one of the Top 20 A-List Destination Wedding Photographers by Destinations Weddings & Honeymoon Magazine and is honored to be selected as one of Eastman Kodak Company’s Mentor and Approved Speaker in 2011. His work has been featured in publications including Destination Weddings & Honeymoon, The Knot, The KoreAm Journal, WIND Magazine and more. He is a platinum list member in highly acclaimed Grace Ormonde Wedding Style Magazine since 2009. He is also an active member of WPPI (Wedding & Portrait Photographers International) and has recently received five special honors in the WPPI 2010 Awards of Excellence 16x20 International Print Competition. He was voted by The Knot Magazine and in 2010 & 2011 as the Best of Weddings in Photography and recognized by Junebug Weddings as one of the best wedding photographers in Chicago.

Kenny currently resides in Chicago but loves to travel and explore new culture. He is thankful everyday for the privilege to call his passion in life his profession as well.
